DB2 for Operations

This course deals with the database management system DB2 in a MVS environment.
 

Objectives:

 

 The course covers the operational aspects of DB2 so that Operators can carry out their tasks effectively.

  • DB2 overview
  • Starting and Stopping DB2
  • Relationship with other components such as CICS and IMS
  • Operator commands
  • DB2 and related commands
  • Utilities
  • Interpreting console messages
  • Problem situations

 Operators and Operating Support staff

Prerequisites:

 Basic IT and MVS-operations experience.

Remarks:

 Number of participants is limited to 10

Teaching method:

 Classical, using overhead sheets en practical examples. The course is given in the Dutch language.
